RELEASE:  This library provides an iconv() implementation, for use on systems
          which don't have one, or whose implementation cannot convert
          from/to Unicode.

        Changes between Xinuoslibiconv 1.16 and 1.17

        New in 1.17:
        * The libiconv library is now licensed under the LGPL version 2.1,
          instead of the LGPL version 2.0. The iconv program continues to be
          licensed under GPL version 3.
        * Added converters for many single-byte EBCDIC encodings:
          IBM-{037,273,277,278,280,282,284,285,297,423,424,425,500,838,870},
          IBM-{871,875,880,905,924,1025,1026,1047,1097,1112,1122,1123,1130},
          IBM-{1132,1137,1140},1141,1142,1143,1144,1145,1146,1147,1148,1149},
          IBM-{1153,1154,1155,1156,1157},1158,1160,1164,1165,1166,4971},
          IBM-{12712,16804}.
          They are available through the configure option
          '--enable-extra-encodings'.

          I. Software Notes and Recommendations 

             Xinuoslibiconv should only be installed on:
             UnixWare 7 Definitive D2M1 with MP1
             or SCO OpenServer 6 Definitive D2M1 with oss726j or later.

          II. Installation Instructions 


           To install libiconv-1.17 follow these steps: 

            1. Login as root

            2. Download the Xinuoslibiconv-1.17-UnixWare-i386.pkg.xz file
               and optionally Xinuoslibiconv-dev-1.17-UnixWare-i386.pkg.xz

               to the /tmp directory on your machine.

            3. After the download is complete, change to /tmp and run the
               following to command(s) to verify the integrity of the download:

              sha256 Xinuoslibiconv-1.17-UnixWare-i386.pkg.xz
              sha256 Xinuoslibiconv-dev-1.17-UnixWare-i386.pkg.xz

            The output should be:
SHA256 (Xinuoslibiconv-1.17-UnixWare-i386.pkg.xz) = d3fbea52399f94adb851cb9f5030ca11f927ee139ec2ac3f6d24f0be63c35790
SHA256 (Xinuoslibiconv-dev-1.17-UnixWare-i386.pkg.xz) = 3093e29308b6d243838144547919a331ceb0f067ed6018142e779b1394384409

            4. After verifying the sums match, As root, add the package
               to your system using these commands:

               $ su -
               Password: <type your root password>
               # xzcat Xinuoslibiconv-1.17-UnixWare-i386.pkg.xz | pkgadd -d -

               Alternatively, this package may be installed in quiet mode
               by using these commands:

               $ su -
               Password: <type your root password>
               # xzcat Xinuoslibiconv-1.17-UnixWare-i386.pkg.xz | pkgadd -qd - all


                If you are doing software development on libiconv modules,
                repeat steps for Xinuoslibiconv-dev-1.17-UnixWare-i386.pkg.xz

            5. Installation of package libiconv-1.17 is now complete.

            6. Once the installation has completed, you can remove or archive
               Xinuoslibiconv-1.17-UnixWare-i386.pkg.xz
               downloaded in step 2.

            7. There is no need to reboot the system after installing this
               package.  However, if your system is running any libraries
               or commands that are contained in this package, then these
               programs will continue to run with the old versions of these
               libraries or commands until the system is rebooted.

               Note that when all necessary packages have been installed, it
               is good practice to reboot the system at the earliest
               opportunity.  This will ensure that no programs continue to run
               with the old libraries or commands.

          III. Removal Instructions 

          Note: Packages must be removed in the reverse order in which they 
          were installed due to dependencies.

            1. As root, remove the package using these commands:

               $ su -
               Password: <type your root password>
               # pkginfo -q Xinuoslibiconv-dev && pkgrm Xinuoslibiconv-dev
               # pkgrm Xinuoslibiconv

            2. There is no need to reboot the system after removing this
               package.  However, if your system is running any libraries
               or commands that are contained in this package, then these
               programs will continue to run with the old versions of these
               libraries or commands until the system is rebooted.

               Note that when all necessary packages have been removed, it
               is good practice to reboot the system at the earlier
               opportunity.  This will ensure that no programs continue to run
               with the old libraries or commands.
